Happy memories.
These policies explain how booking, payments, equipment, editing, and your information are handled. Your signed booking agreement controls if its terms differ from this page.
01
Privacy policy
We collect the contact, event, and project information you submit so we can provide services, communicate with you, fulfill bookings, and improve the client experience. Booking information may be processed by trusted service providers such as Dubsado, our payment processor, email provider, shipping carriers, and website host.
Payment-card details are handled by the payment processor and are not stored directly by Happily Captured Films. We do not sell your personal information. We retain business records as reasonably needed for service, legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes. You may request access to or correction of your information by emailing us.
02
Booking terms
Submitting an inquiry does not reserve a wedding date. A booking becomes confirmed only after the applicable agreement is signed and the invoice is paid in full. Services are limited to the package and add-ons shown in the completed booking documents.
Clients are responsible for obtaining permission from venues and participants where required. Because footage is captured by the client’s chosen guests, specific moments, image quality, audio quality, and uninterrupted coverage cannot be guaranteed. Happily Captured Films will use professional judgment when selecting and editing the footage provided.
These public terms are supplemented by the signed booking agreement. The agreement controls if there is a conflict. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
03
Cancellation + refund policy
For cancellations received at least 60 calendar days before the event, payments are refundable. For cancellations received 30–59 calendar days before the event, 50% of the amount paid is refundable. Payments are nonrefundable for cancellations received fewer than 30 calendar days before the event.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing times depend on the payment provider. Custom work already completed, expedited costs, and nonrecoverable shipping expenses may be deducted where permitted by the signed agreement.
04
Shipping + returns
We aim for camera kits to arrive 5–7 days before the event. Carrier delays and circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect delivery. Clients should notify us promptly if a package appears delayed, damaged, or incomplete.
The complete kit must be handed to the designated carrier using the provided prepaid label within five business days after the event. A $25-per-day late fee may apply beginning on the sixth business day and continue until the kit is accepted by the carrier or treated as lost under the booking agreement.
05
Equipment responsibility
Normal wear from ordinary use is expected. The booking client is responsible for equipment that is lost, stolen, not returned, missing, or damaged through misuse, neglect, liquids, improper storage, unauthorized repair, or failure to follow the included instructions.
Repair or replacement charges will reflect the actual reasonable cost of restoring or replacing the affected item, plus applicable shipping and handling. An itemized invoice is due within seven calendar days. Unpaid balances may be referred for collection, with reasonable collection costs added where allowed by law and the signed agreement.
06
Editing + footage retention
Finished films are typically delivered digitally within 4–8 weeks after the complete kit and all footage are received. Timing may be extended by unusually large amounts of footage, corrupted or missing media, delayed client responses, requested add-ons, or events outside our reasonable control.
One reasonable revision round is included for factual corrections and minor adjustments. Re-edits, music changes, structural changes, or additional versions may require an added fee.
Raw footage is retained for at least six months after final-film delivery. After that guaranteed period, footage and project files may be permanently deleted without further notice. Clients who want a permanent personal copy should purchase raw-footage delivery and maintain their own backups.
